Privileges- A private pilot may
  • The entire United States and many foreign countries
  • Day or night
  • Split the cost of the flights with friends and family members
  • Fly for personal business, personal travel, and for fun
  • License is good for life.
  • Fly aircraft up to 12,500 lbs (aprox 8 people)
What Aircraft will I fly

Cessna 152, Cessna 172, or your own. Pacific has aircraft for rent, or we can help you buy your own.

Estimated hours
  • Minimum of 40 hours of flight
  • Minimum of 20 hours of instruction
  • The national average of getting a private pilot license is 60 hours of fight time.
Limitations
  • May not be compensated "paid" for flying (that is what a commercial license is for)
  • Must have a current medical certificate (duration depends on your age)
  • Must have a current flight review every 2 years
  • Cannot fly in bad weather (unless you add on an "instrument" rating)
Estimated Cost
Minimum:
  • 40h Cessna 152 = $3800
  • 20h instructor= $900

Realistic / average required:
  • 50 hours Cessna 152= $4750
  • 40 hours instruction=$1800
  • Medical=$95
  • Written test=$100
  • Headset=$280
  • Ground school=$350
  • Text books and materials=$160
  • Check ride=$300

                   Total $7835

Pacific Aviation want to make sure that once you start your training that you can finish. Remember to ask questions when comparing other program prices with ours.  Make sure that your quote is realistic and includes ALL aspects of the flight training process not just the minimums.
How do I pay?

Pay as you go, or finance through our "Pilot Finance" program with easy monthly payments.  Prepay for a 10% discount. Ask for details.
